EXTREME Jenga!!

This might go down as one of the most epic Jenga matches in OC youth history! and I am positive that Tuesday night lived up to its billing as "the funnest hour of your week." We were also able to celebrate Steven's 15th birthday which was great as well!

Thomas has his game face on as he scores one for his team!

And here is b-RAD's successful turn, check out the base of that tower!

Ok so I am pretty fired up about our Jenga match but I will stop. I did however want to remind everyone that we are going to be going to the Woodland Corn Maze this friday evening. We will meet at the church office at 6:00 pm and will be returning between 10:30 and 11:00.

The cost will be $8 to get in plus any food or corn maze souveniers you might want. But please don't let money be an issue we can work something out if it is. Call or email scott at 342.7692 or scott@orchardchurch.com

Tests...Tests...TESTS!

We have had a lot of prayer requests for all the the tests that you guys have been having lately so I hope and pray that they are all going well. I know that it is hard to balance our personal lives and school lives and everything that we have going on. It is great to know that God blesses all of the effort and energy that we put into our lives when we glorify Him in the process!

A couple of things to keep in mind this month as we work through our first month of school...

-Let's remember to invite our friends and think of new ways to reach out to fellow students.

-What can we do to put our faith into action? The Bible tells us that our faith combined with actions creates true substance in our Christian lives. Be thinking of ways to put our faith into action.

-Last thing...Youth group should be fun, for us and our friends so lets get some more ideas going for activities that are inviting, include lots of folks, and are above all really fun!

Hope that everyone is having a great week, remember that YG is starting at 6:30 at the office this week, bring a friend!

This just in...

Big thanks to Brad for coming and sharing last night! Awesome testimony. As we talked about last night, it is important that we share the amazing things that God has done and is doing in our lives, it is beneficial to others, as well as ourselves!

...THIS JUST IN...

We have a date set for our soda outreach. Thursday September 7 we will be handing out sodas to students as they head downtown for lunch. Along with the sugary beverage we will be slipping in a little information card inviting them to youth group and FCA activities. This is going to be a great way for us to step out of our comfort zones and share our faith with our peers! No worries if your schedule doesn't fit with the outreach, there will be more to come!

Thanks again to all of you who make the youth group a safe and fun place to hang out, lets show our friends how fun it is and invite someone along for next week! Hope you all have a great week at school and get a handle on all of your homework! Peace and God Bless.

Schedule changes for youth group...

Thanks to all of you who have been making Tuesday nights a fun and exciting place to be! I hope that you are all learning a few things from that guy Jesus as we study how he handled situation that we all face everyday.

So just a heads up on some schedule changes coming in September...

-Starting in September we will start meeting at the church office on 818 Salem Street.
-We will also start meeting at 6:30 and wrapping up at 8:45, if transportation is an issu
please let me know, we don't want transportation issues to stop you from joining us!

Reminder for next time...if you have a shirt that you don't mind getting dirty and potentially stained bring it, we have a fun activity planned.

Also, be prepared for a service project at Chico High (Robert, Stephen) in September, I promise, it will be like taking candy from a baby (or like giving sodas to high school students).

A new resource for the OC youth!

Howdy everyone, just wanted to introduce a great new way for us to all stay connected throughout the week. I want to encourage everyone to check in with this weekly if possible so that we can be in contact and in the know on important dates and schedule changes, activities and outreaches. But above all of this I think it will be a great place to log on, tell your friends about our group, then see some cool pics of yourself!
